I'm looking for two volunteers to help me run Fix Hudson Link. One Open Source Lead (anywhere in the US) and one Advocacy Lead (anywhere in New York State). A few months of work, just a couple of hours a week. Credit on the Campaign Management team.
Lead the open source launch of fixhudsonlink.com. Clean up the repo, write the README and contribution guide, manage incoming pull requests, and run the publicity push (Hacker News, civic tech communities, transit advocacy networks). Help with technical campaign work as it comes up.
Who this is for: a CS or civic-tech-adjacent student, based anywhere in the US, who already uses Claude Code and GitHub at a basic level for their own work. Not an engineer, but comfortable in a codebase.
Lead the advocacy push. Press outreach to journalists, writing for the blog and social, prepping talking points and briefings for meetings with elected officials and NYSDOT, story collection from riders, and helping move the FOIL request forward.
Who this is for: a comms, journalism, political science, or public policy student, based anywhere in New York State, who's written for publication and is comfortable working with people in positions of authority.
A few months of work, just a couple of hours a week. For the right candidate, I'll work within your availability.
Fill out the form below and pick which role you're applying for. I read every submission. If it's a fit, I'll reach out to set up a call.
